Eng. Siegfried (Bubi) Schieber - The Chairman of the The Community of Campulung Natives was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Craiova, announced the "Die Stimme" magazine edited by the World Union of Bukovina Jews. Eng. Schieber also received the Doctor Honoris Causa title from the Bucharest University. Friend of the Chief-Rabi Moses Rosen, the former Chairman of the Romanian Jewish Communities Federation, Mr. Schieber initiated "The forum Dr. Moses Rosen" in the frame of the "Europe" B'nai B'rith Lodge.

The "Shalom" magazine was launched in the city of Arad, Romania published by the Local Jewish Community. The new publication deals with issues related to the town's Jewish population. On the occasion of the launching, Mr. Vasile Ungureanu, the Arad prefect sent a congratulations letter to the Jewish Community, praising the magazine's objectives: describing specific Jewish community problems, presenting famous Jewish personalities from the city, facilitating « the communication inside the ethnical group which offered remarkable cultural and material values not only to the Arad city but to entire district».
